Welcome to the Squyres, Johnson, Squyres, Secure File Transfer area.  File Share is a secure Internet-based document sharing application.  You can use the File Share Transfer to upload or download private files to or from Squyres, Johnson, Squyres that may be too large for email, or require more security than email, such as financial records.  Below are the instructions on how to register for and use the file transfer system.

Registering for the first time with File Share.
The following fields are required when registering for the first time: First Name, Last Name, Email Address, Password of your choice, & you must check that you agree to the Terms of Use Acceptance.  Once submitted an email will be automatically sent to Squyres Johnson Squyres requesting account activation and upon approval you will be notified via email.

Logging In
Click the "log in" button from the file transfer page on the site.  A new window will open.  You will need to provide your username (email address you used when registering) and your password and click the "log in" button.

Uploading Files
The Upload Files Selection Page will allow you to upload five files at a time. You may directly enter the path and filename or browse for the file on your Computer.  Click on the file name to select it and then click on "open.”  This will place the name of the file into the "file" box on your screen.  Finally, click "upload" to complete the process.  A box will appear indicating the progress of your upload.  Once the upload is complete Squyres, Johnson, Squyres will be notified with an email.  Note: If the you click the cancel button, you will be returned to the Upload Options Page.

Downloading Files
You can download a file in two ways.  First, clicking on the filename will open the file in the appropriate application.  If a file, association does not exist for a particular file, the file download dialog will display.  Second, selecting the Download button displayed next to the file.  This option will take you directly to the browser Save File function.  This functionality will be the same for all file area pages 

File Share System Requirements

Browser Requirements

  • Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher
  • Netscape 7.0 or higher
  • Safari 1.2 or higher
  • AOL 7.0 or higher

Browser Settings

  • Cookies must be allowed (Note IE 6.x users must set the Privacy settings to Medium or lower.
  • JavaScript must be enabled
  • Browser text size set to Medium, which is usually the default setting.

Pop-Up Blockers

  • If you are using pop-up blocking software, it must be disabled for this site

Monitor Display Settings

  • File Share requires a resolution of at least 800 x 600 pixels

Security Time-Out

  • For your security, File Share automatically requires users to log in again after 30 minutes of inactivity.
